St. Francis is continually increasing our technology and equipment.
Our school now has 16 SMART Boards with ELMOs. Our goal to have a SMART Board in every classroom - accomplished in 2010-2011 school year. Each classroom also has one to four computers with Internet access. School laptops have access to secure wireless.
St. Francis Solanus School has a first-floor computer lab with thirty-five computers and a ceiling mount projector. The projector allows teachers to show what the students are supposed to be doing at their computer. A second-floor computer lab has twenty-one computers and a laptop/projector cart. This cart may be used to show a group an Internet site or a file on the server.
Our library is equipped with Koha, a program used to check out books for the students.
Our lunch count/attendance is done with Teacher Ease on-line. This on-line service allows immediate access to student's lunch count, attendance, and family information. Our teachers also use this system for recording grades. We are going to use the parent portal to allow the parents to check their child's grades and assignments. Please email your information to

St. Francis School also has School Reach to inform parents of possible emergencies or information they need to know by phone. When this system is activated, the information goes out to the parents within minutes, and repeats every 15 minutes for 3 tries to get an answer.
Our school has video cameras at every exit. For security purposes, our building is locked down and this enables us to know who is coming and going into our building. Any person wanting access to our school has to ring a door bell at the front door and, then, is allowed access into the building.
We recycle inks/toners to help purchase computer/printer equipment and some classroom supplies.
